Certified Prevention Specialist-Associate (CPS-A) is a credential for prevention professionals which is recognized in Indiana only. This is an entry-level credential for prevention professionals to validate their competencies in substance use prevention and to support workforce development in the prevention field.

  • The applicant must sign, and agree to abide by the ICAADA Certified Prevention Specialist (CPS) Code of Ethics
Residency
  • Candidate must live or work in Indiana at least 51% of the time
Recertification
  • Non-renewable (This credential is valid for 3 years from date of award)
    – Candidate is expected to earn the CPS credential during the three years of CPS-A credential validity
