CCJP

ICAADA Certified Criminal Justice Specialist (CCJP) is an addiction credential for criminal justice professionals recognized by the International Credentialing and Reciprocity Consortium (IC&RC) and IC&RC affiliated states and countries that offer the IC&RC CCJP credential. This credential is also recognized as the gold standard for competency in the field and has been endorsed by the International Community Corrections Association (ICCA).

In order to receive the CCJP credential, you must hold a current CADAC II or CADAC IV certificate. If you do not, please select, based upon experience and training, the appropriate CADAC for you. Once that certification process has been completed, please apply for your CCJP.

Experience

  • High school diploma and jurisdictional equivalent requires 6,000 hours of supervised work experience specific to the Domains AND 2,000 hours of criminal justice work experience *
  • Associate’s degree in a related field requires 5,000 hours of supervised work experience specific to the Domains AND 2,000 hours of criminal justice work experience *
  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field requires 4,000 hours of supervised work experience specific to theDomains AND 2,000 hours of criminal justice work experience *
  • Master’s degree or higher in a related field requires 2,000 hours of supervised work experience specific to the Domains AND 2,000 hours of criminal justice work experience.*

*For all education levels, the 2,000 hours of criminal justice work experience may be included in the ADC work experience

Education & Training
  • Minimum high school diploma or jurisdictional equivalent
  • 300 hours of education of which 200 hours are specific to the CADAC II Domains and 100 are specific to the CCJP Domains
  • 6 hours must be specific to counselor ethics and responsibilities
  • 6 hours in cultural competency

  • Associate’s degree in a relevant field requires 250 hours of supervision specific to ADC and CCJP Job Analyses *
  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field requires 200 hours of supervision specific to the ADC and CCJP Domains *
  • Master’s degree or higher in a relevant field requires 100 hours of supervision specific to ADC and CCJP Domains *

  4. Clinical Evaluation: Screening and Assessment

*A minimum of 10 hours of supervision across each ADC and CCJP domain is required

Residency
  • Candidate must live or work In Indiana at least 51% of the time.
Recertification
  • 40 hours of continuing education relevant to the CADAC and CCJP Domains with 6 clock-hours of cultural competency education during the period of certification.

  • Membership: $125
  • Exam: Member – $200 | Non-member – $400
  • Certification: Member – $200 | Non-member – $400
Experience
  • 2,000 hours of supervised work experience specific to the AADC Domains and 2,000 hours of criminal justice work experience

The 2,000 hours of criminal justice work experience may be included in the AADC work experience.

Education & Training
  • Master’s degree in a relevant field.
  • 180 hours of education specific to the AADC Domains and 100 hours specific to the CCJP Domains
  • 6 hours must specific to counselor ethics and responsibilities.
  • 6 hours in cultural competency

  • Candidates must first pass the IC&RC AADC examination and then the IC&RC CCJP examination
