Domestic Violence Support (DVS)

Prerequisite:

• Must hold a current ICAADA Recovery Coach certification such as: 
  • CPRC-A  
  • CRC-A 
  • CFRC-A 
  • CPRC
  • CRC
  • CFRC

Education: 

• 4 hours: Dynamics of DV (including types of abuse, impacts of trauma, barriers and supports, assessment, etc.)
• 2 hours: Risk Factors & Lethality Indicators (including strangulation).
• 1.5 hours: Safety Planning
• 1.5 Hours: Survivor Resources (Including criminal & civil law, trauma-informed care, system navigation & coordinated community response, financial resources, parenting / family resources, etc.)
• 1.5 Hours: Confidentiality & Ethics
• 4.5 Hours: Any DV-Related Topic from a qualified provider.

Code of Ethics:

• No specific code of ethics for this endorsement 
  • Must follow base certification specific code of ethics 

Initial Endorsement Fees:

• DVS Endorsement Fee: $50 ICAADA members/$100 non-ICAADA member 

Recertification:

• If you hold the CPRC-A, CRC-A, or CFRC-A:
  • The DVS endorsement is valid for two (2) years from date of issuance and is NON-RENEWABLE. Candidates must earn the next level to their certification (CPRC, CRC, CFRC) to earn the next level endorsement.
• If you hold the CPRC, CRC, or CFRC:
  • The DVS endorsement is valid for two (2) years from date of issuance and is renewable.
• Candidates must maintain their base certification (CPRC, CRC, or CFRC) in addition to earning the following education during the period of their DVS endorsement validity:
  • 1.5 Hours Risk & Lethality
  • 1.5 Hours: Safety Planning
  • 1 Hour: Survivor resources
  • 3 Hours: Any DV-related topic from a qualified provider.

Recertification Fees:

• DVS recertification fee: $50.00 ICAADA members/$100 non-ICAADA member
