Alcohol and Drug Addiction Consultants (Treatment professionals) Career Map

Certified Alcohol and Drug Addiction Consultant (CADAC) credentials are designed to be entry-level, to advanced treatment level credentials (depending upon CADAC level). There are multiple levels to this certification based upon a person’s education, experience, and licensure (if held).

Professional Experience And Supervision High school diploma or an applicable associate degree: 2,000 hours

Supervision:  
The supervision of the CADAC skills domain experience may take place within an academic setting and/or within a supervised work setting.  
All candidates, regardless of educational background, must complete a minimum of 220 hours of direct supervision related to the CADAC skills domain experience hours required for the credential. These supervision hours are in addition to the experience hours. 
High school diploma: 6,000 hours  
Associate’s degree: 5,000 hours  
Bachelor’s degree: 4,000 hours  
Master’s degree: 2,000 hours 

Supervision:
