Curt Langhammer, BA, CADAC IV, LCAC
Board President, Chairman, Ethics Committee
Curt has been an active member of ICAADA since 1990. He has also served on the NAADAC Certification Board. Curt is the central region director of the Indiana Criminal Justice Association. Curt is the president of Addiction Counseling & Educational Services which provides outpatient addiction counseling. He is the director of Liberty Hall, a private, 300 bed, work release re-entry facility with contracts with the Indiana Department of Corrections and Marion County Community Corrections. Curt’s entire career has been helping people who suffer with addiction and those who are re-entering our communities after incarceration. He is an Indiana University graduate with a degree in Psychology.
Steve McCaffrey, JD
Board Treasurer
Steve earned his undergraduate degree from Purdue University and his doctor of jurisprudence from Indiana University School of Law in Indianapolis, and has been with Mental Health America of Indiana since 1991. He is a recipient of the Webster-Kipfer Award for special achievement in public policy advocacy, a former vice chairman for Public Affairs and member of the board of directors of the National Mental Health Association, and former board member of the American Society of Mental Health Association Professionals. He has been named to the National Directory of “Who’s Who in Executives and Professionals” and by the Indiana Business Journal as a member of “Who’s Who in Indiana Health Care.” Steve has received gubernatorial appointments to the Indiana Mental Health Commission and the Medicaid Quality Advisory Committee. He currently serves as chair of the Division of Mental Health and Addiction Advisory Committee.
Brandon Andrews, CADAC II
Brandon Andrews has worked at Wheeler Mission since 2008. He currently serves as the Director of the Men’s Residential Center, which is a 110-bed facility that helps the poor and marginalized find hope and restoration. Throughout his many years at Wheeler Mission Brandon has served in all different levels of the addiction recovery process.
Brandon has a deep passion to help those that are lost and broken from addiction find hope. According to Brandon, “being on the board of ICAADA gives me a chance to help promote recovery across the state of Indiana and beyond.” He has been credentialed as a CADAC 2 since 2010 and holds a degree in Leadership and Ministry. His favorite way to spend his time is enjoying the company of his amazing wife and their two children.
Dennis R. Greene, LCAC, CADAC IV
Past President, Certification Committee
Denny Greene is a Licensed Clinical Addiction Counselor and a CADAC IV. He has been certified by ICAADA since February 1977 and has served on the ICAADA Board of Directors, the ICAADA Certification Board and many other state and local boards.
ICAADA provided Denny the skills foundation and ethic posture for his clinical addiction counseling initially with the UAW-Chrysler Employee Assistance Program in Indianapolis in the 1970’s.
And he will forever be grateful for the mentorship of ICAADA.
Denny, also, has been the Executive Director/Clinical Addiction Counselor for Christian Counseling and Addiction Services, Inc. since 1980.
Denny’s goals are for ICAADA to continue to provide the most prestigious and most ethical certification for our present and future members. Denny is very grateful for ICAADA and prays that he may be a blessing to our organization.
Katharine K. Sadler, M.Ed., CPS
Certification Committee
Katharine K. Sadler, M.Ed., CPS is a Technical Assistance Specialist and Research Associate at Prevention Insights in the Department of Applied Health Science, Indiana University School of Public Health-Bloomington. She has extensive experience in successfully assessing and building community capacity, developing process and change strategies, and evaluating efforts through prevention technical assistance and coaching. She has worked at the federal, state, and local levels. Her background includes school counseling and teaching, as well as communications and social marketing.
Kristy Shene, CAPRC II-MH
Kristy Shene, CAPRC II-MH is a Peer Recovery Case Manager at Dove Recovery House for Women and has a passion for supporting stigmatized populations at the micro and macro level. Kristy currently serves as a stigma reduction panelist for Indiana University in efforts to combat stigma in our healthcare systems. Kristy was featured in the Marion County Public Health Department “You’re Worth It” Campaign, which focused on reaching those suffering in silence due to stigma based around substance abuse treatment. Kristy received her Associate of Science in Human Services – Social Services fom Ivy Tech Community College and is a proud member of the local recovery community. Kristy enjoys spending her free time with her wife, Andrea and their three pitbulls.
Charmin Gabbard BS, CADAC II, RCII-FS, CSPR-PR
Charmin Gabbard, Executive Director & co-founder of Connection Cafe, a grassroots organization. Charmin has invested in countless lives by mentoring and developing recovery programs and by partnering with correctional facilities to support others in their recovery journey. Combining efforts with local and state leaders, her mission is to help stop the spread of infectious diseases associated with IV drug use through harm reduction education. As a person in sustained recovery continues her passion is to advocate for awareness of mental health and substance use, as well as support people in all pathways of recovery.
Charmin is the Vice President of Fayette Co Drug Coalition, a Member of Ivy Techs Health & Human Services Board, and serves on an advisory council for The Great Lakes Rural Opioid technical center.
AhNonda Bates
AhNonda Bates has 17 years of clinical experience as an Addictions Therapist, with 7 years in leadership as a Clinical Supervisor, Clinical Director, and Vice President. AhNonda is a graduate from Purdue University with a dual Bachelor’s degree in Psychology and Law and Society.
She graduated with her Master’s Degree in Community Psychology 2008 from Martin University and obtained her clinical license as a Licensed Clinical Addictions Counselor in 2011. She specializes in the treatment of Addictions, Dual Diagnosis, Depression, Anxiety, PTSD, grief, and Bipolar Disorder. Additionally, AhNonda has 8 years of experience as an adjunct professor teaching Introduction to Addictions Studies, Introduction to Behavioral Sciences, and Crisis Intervention Strategies online and in the classroom. Currently, AhNonda is the Director of Outpatient Services for Hickory Recovery Network.
