Mental Health (MH)

The Mental Health (MH) endorsement is to validate the recovery coach professional’s additional competencies related to mental health understanding and support. The mental health specific education supplements the foundational education a recovery coach receives during initial certification.

Prerequisite:
  • Must hold a current ICAADA Recovery Coach certification such as: 
    • CPRC-A  
    • CRC-A 
    • CFRC-A 
    • CPRC
    • CRC
    • CFRC
Education: 
  • Fifteen (15) hours of mental health specific education in the following categories and quantities
    • Eight (8) hours in Adult Mental health First Aid 
    • Two (2) hours in suicide prevention training 
    • Five (5) hours of mental health specific education

  • No specific code of ethics for this endorsement 
    • Must follow base certification specific code of ethics
Initial Endorsement Fees:
  • -MH Endorsement Fee: $50 ICAADA members/$100 non-ICAADA member
Recertification:
  • If you hold the CPRC-A, CRC-A, or CFRC-A:
    • The MH endorsement is valid for two (2) years from date of issuance and is NON-RENEWABLE. Candidates must earn the next level to their certification (CPRC, CRC, CFRC) to earn the next level endorsement.
  • If you hold the CPRC, CRC, or CFRC:
    • The MH endorsement is valid for two (2) years from date of issuance and is renewable.
    • Candidates must maintain their base certification (CPRC, CRC, or CFRC) in addition to earning seven (7) hours of mental health education during the period of their MH endorsement validity.
Recertification Fees:
  • MH recertification fee: $50.00 ICAADA members/$100 non-ICAADA member

Applications should NOT BE started until all pre-requisites and required training(s) are met/completed. If you start an application prior to completing this, it will be deleted. Please note you will have six (6) months from loading the application to complete. If it is not completed within six (6) months of starting, the application will be deleted, and you will need to reload it in and start from the beginning.
