The name of this organization is the Indiana Counselors

Association on Alcohol and Drug Abuse (ICAADA).

ARTICLE II MISSION

Section 1. Mission Statement

The mission of this Association is to oversee attainment of recognized credentials in alcohol and other drug abuse (AODA) prevention and treatment and in cooccurring disorder treatment by individuals who have demonstrated proficiency in this area of expertise through field practice under appropriate supervision and through achieving a passing score on a reliable testing device, such as that provided by the International Certification and Reciprocity Consortium (IC & RC); to promote the maintenance of the highest standards of performance by alcohol and drug abuse professionals through provision of stateoftheart training and educational programs and/or collaborating with organizations which provide these programs; to promote entry into the field of alcohol and other drug prevention and treatment by qualified individuals to increase the availability of AODA professionals in health care settings; and to support the maintenance of the highest standards of practice among professionals in the field of AODA prevention and treatment.
